Freeport Resident Sarah Davis Brings National Leadership Experience Home to Walton County
WALTON COUNTY, Fla. — June 11 — After years of visiting Walton County, Sarah Davis knew the area had become more than a favorite destination. Eventually, one visit turned into something more permanent when Davis purchased a house in Freeport and chose to build her life and work in the community.
As Freeport and Walton County continue to grow, Davis represents a new kind of local leader: someone who chose the area not only for its beauty, but for the opportunity to contribute, serve and help people and organizations grow with purpose.
Today, Davis is a Freeport resident, community volunteer and Co-Founder of Lead Aligned, where she helps organizations reduce avoidable turnover and retain great talent. For more than 15 years, Davis has been helping leaders, teams and organizations navigate change, maximize talent and improve performance through strengths-based leadership development and resiliency-building programs. And her national-level expertise is now based in one of Northwest Florida’s fastest-growing areas.
“I didn’t just choose Freeport as a place to live,” said Davis. “I chose it as a place to be planted, involved and grow. After spending years helping leaders and teams thrive in high-pressure environments, I feel grateful to bring that experience into a community that values service, connection and community.”
Davis has worked alongside a diverse range of organizations, from Tier 1 Special Operations communities and healthcare systems to corporations and mission-driven nonprofits. Much of her career has been dedicated to supporting military service members, veterans and their families, a connection that makes her work especially meaningful in Walton County and the surrounding region, where military service and patriotism are deeply woven into the fabric of the community.
Her expertise lies in translating complex leadership challenges into practical, sustainable solutions that improve both people and performance. Through her work, Davis helps organizations address the root causes of underperformance, disengagement and turnover by developing stronger leaders, healthier cultures and workplaces where people choose to stay.
Over the last few years, Davis has become more connected in Walton County, and she said local conversations have reinforced the need for that work close to home.
“As I’ve gotten to know the community, I’m hearing from business owners and leaders that retention is such a real concern,” said Davis. “They want to grow, but they also want to keep the people who make that growth possible. This is exactly the problem Lead Aligned solves: helping organizations build the kind of leadership, clarity and culture that make talented people want to stay.”
Davis' work is deeply personal. She is committed to paying forward the tools and insights that transformed her own life so others can lead with impact.
For Davis, leadership has always been about people. Guided by her deeply held values of community and connection, she believes that meaningful relationships are the foundation of both personal and organizational success.
Although she has only lived in Walton County for a short time, Davis has quickly become an active member of the community, volunteering through her church, serving as a mentor with Leadership Walton and participating in organizations such as the Freeport Merchants Association, the Walton Area Chamber of Commerce and Emerald Coast Networking.
“Freeport felt like home from the beginning, and getting involved has helped me become part of the community in a deeper way,” said Davis. “I believe in showing up, building relationships and getting involved wherever I can.”
Local businesses, nonprofits and community organizations looking to strengthen leadership, retain great talent and build healthier workplace cultures are encouraged to learn more about Lead Aligned at leadalignedprogram.com or connect with Davis to explore how the organization can support their team’s growth.
